Fans of the fantasy series The Witcher have finally been able to relax. After much anticipation, the makers finally released the teaser trailer for season 2. After a long wait, season 2 is finally coming to Netflix as an early Christmas gift for its fans.
As part of the ongoing WitcherCon, a two-day event for all things related to The Witcher franchise, it has been revealed that the second season of the popular series premieres on the streaming service on December 17, 2021.
Season 2 production was a difficult one for The Witcherteam. After several people tested positive for Covid-19, production west of London was halted in November 2020. A month later, season 2 production was halted when Cavill sustained an injury on-set.
The trailer for season 2 of Netflix’s The Witcher has been released. The trailer opens with Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), and Princess Cirilla (Freya Allen), embarking on a journey towards the Witcher castle Kaer Morhen. Trailer teases the return to Vengerberg of the sorceress Yennefer.
The Witcher Season 1 premiered in 2019, and was based upon Andrzej Sapkowski’s bestsellers of the same title. It seems like season 2 of the show will include flashbacks back to Geralt’s earlier days of monster hunting. The panelists showed a glimpse of a Leshen during WitcherCon’s first panel. Fans of the videogame franchise and those who supported t the tabletop game on Kickstarter should recognize this dear, skull-headed monster.
Our first glimpse at The Witcher 2 was a brief one. We saw Ciri (Freya Allen) training. Now we see a still with Lambert (Paul Bullion), mid-training. Netflix’s tweet released the photo with the caption “the teacher and the student, although it is not clear from the sound of it which one.”
