The link to start the registration process for NEET- UG 2021 has been released by the National Testing Agency on July 13. Aspirants can visit NTA’s website to register themselves for the medical undergraduate entrance examination. The application form has been divided into two phases to ensure quick and convenient data submission for the candidates. Candidates must fill-up the application form by 11:50 pm on August 6. The admit card will be released on the NTA website and the exam will be conducted in a pen-paper mode actress the country.
The National Testing Agency will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for undergraduate students this year on September 12. This is a national level entrance examination through which students can get admissions into courses such as MBBS, BDS and Ayush in medical institutions. Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan took to Twitter to announce the arrangements that will be made to ensure adherence to all Covid-19 Protocols. The Government had to defer the examination, which was originally scheduled to be held on August 1, due to the surge in Covid 19 cases in the country.
Details regarding Application Fee for NEET 2021
Candidates who belong to the reserved categories like SC, ST, Pwd or identify as Transgender will have to pay an application fee of Rs. 800, whereas the students belonging to the economically weaker sections and the general category have to pay a fee of Rs 1400 and Rs. 1500 respectively. Those applying for reserved categories also have to mandatorily submit proof of their respective reservations during the time of registration.
Candidates must fill their application forms carefully as submission of multiple forms will lead to rejection of the application.
Documents required during Registration for NEET 2021
Candidates are required to submit scanned copies of- passport size photograph (10-200kb), the signature of the candidate (4-30kb), left thumb impression (right thumb, in case the left thumb is unavailable, with the file size of 10-50kb); an image of their 10th Grade Certificate (100-300kb) and an Image of postcard size photograph during the registration process.
Eligibility Criteria for NEET 2021
The candidates appearing for the test have to be not less than 17 years as of December 31, 2021, and not more than 25 years of age. They can be Indian/NRI/OCI/PIO or foreign nationals. The candidates are required to have passed their 12th Grade with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English and an aggregate of 50% marks in these subjects. The minimum aggregate percentage of marks required for eligibility is- 45% if the candidate is physically handicapped and 40% if they belong to SC/ST.
Correction Window for NEET 2021
A correction window facility will be opened by NTA from August 8 to August 12, for the applicants to rectify errors (if any) in their NEET 2021 application forms (selected fields only).
Over 16 Lakh students have been expected to sit for the pen-paper mode of the test. In an attempt to follow the social distancing norms in order to ensure the safety of the students, the number of cities as well as the number of centres where the examination will be held, have been increased. Face masks will be provided to all the candidates at the examination centre and other precautionary measures such as proper sanitisation of the venue, staggered time slots during entry and exit, contactless registration and a socially distanced seating arrangement have been ensured to be adhered to.
After the amendment in the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 last year, the marks scored by a candidate in NEET are also considered for admissions to MBBS courses in colleges like AIIMS and JIPMER.
