‘Dream Girl 2’, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday, is scheduled to hit theaters on August 25, 2023. Taran Adarsh, a film critic and industry observer, published the advance bookings totals for “Dream Girl 2” as they started to come in. According to Taran Adarsh, up till Thursday morning 10:30 am, multiplex chains had sold close to 26,550 tickets. Naturally, the number has gone up since then.
Taran Adarsh posted the following on his official Twitter account: “#DreamGirl2 advance booking status for DAY 1 at national chains… thru Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Tickets sold as of #PVR: 14,150, #INOX: 6,300, #Cinepolis: 6,100, for a total of 26,550.
‘Dream Girl 2’ is expected to debut at between Rs. 9 and Rs. 10 crores, according to publications and trade analyst websites. ‘Dream Girl 2’ will become Ayushmann Khurrana’s largest opening in the post-pandemic world if the aforementioned amount is reached.
Three of his movies debuted in the same bracket back before the pandemic. These also featured “Dream Girl,” the franchise’s 2019 debut movie, which earned Rs. 10.05 crores.
The social comedy “Bala,” directed by Amar Kaushik, debuted that year after “Dream Girl” with an opening weekend gross of Rs. 10.15 crores, making it Ayushmann’s highest opening weekend gross to date.
Ayushmann’s third biggest opening day take for a movie, “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan” brought in Rs. 9.55 crores at the box office.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s movies haven’t been doing well in the post-pandemic era. His eclectic selection of roles and movies may be to blame. Ayushmann Khurrana appeared in the 2012 romantic comedy “Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui,” which barely made 3.75 crores of rupees. After ‘Article 15’, Ayushmann Khurran and Anubhav Sinha teamed up once again for ‘Anek,’ which debuted to a pitiful Rs. 1.77 crores.
Later in 2022, Ayushmann Khurrana appeared in the social comedy Doctor G (Anubhuti Kashyap; 3.87 crore) and An Action Hero (Anirudh Iyer; 1.31 crore), which had his weakest debut in recent memory.
On Netflix India, “An Action Hero” quickly gained praise and a following.
Meanwhile, Ananya Panday, Vijay Raaz, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Manjot Singh, Annu Kapoor, Jeetendra, and more actors can be seen in Ayushmann’s upcoming film, “Dream Girl 2.” Fans are looking forward to the big comedic ride and are thrilled about the supporting cast of the impending ensemble.
