Yoga is a collection of physical, mental, and spiritual disciplines that originated in ancient India. Yoga is practiced through the use of asanas or poses. Yoga’s ultimate purpose is to bring conscious and subconscious minds under control. Yoga brings together the mind and body, and music and coordinated movement.

Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years, dating back to the 5th and 6th centuries BC. Yoga can be a wonderful alternative to address a condition like obesity or if you’re trying to reduce weight. Yoga consists of five main disciplines that target the entire body-

  • Exercise and Nutrition
  • Meditation
  • Breathing
  • Relaxation

Yoga is not a strenuous activity that requires a lot of energy, but basic positions, or asanas, can help you speed up your metabolism and lose weight without expensive equipment or class memberships. Yoga is simple to learn and pick up at home, and there is no requirement that you be trained by a professional. It is also a natural and healthy way to tackle weight loss and obesity with no adverse effects.

Yoga is the solution for all of your health difficulties, and here are five asanas for obesity.

Surya Namaskara

Surya Namaskara is a popular yoga asana that is a great way to start the day, even if it isn’t for weight loss. Surya Namaskara alone can help you enhance your health in a safe and timely manner. Surya Namaskara, or Sun Salutation, not only warms muscles and improves blood circulation, but it also stretches and tones most major muscles, trims the waist and arms, stimulates the digestive system, and balances the metabolism. Different asanas that involve completing a cycle of Surya Namaskara are also beneficial on their own and produce excellent outcomes. Surya Namaskar is a comprehensive approach to health and the most effective technique to lose weight.

Chaturanga Dandasana

Chaturanga Dandasana, also known as Low Plank or Four-Limbed Staff Pose, is a modern yoga asana in which the toes, palms, and elbows maintain a straight body parallel to the ground. While the plank position focuses on your abdominal muscles and core, it is equally beneficial to your arms, thighs, and legs in western training methods.

Virabhadrasana

The warrior posture is of numerous sections and pieces that work together to tone your thighs, shoulders, and arms while also boosting your focus. Virabhadrasana can provide you with fantastic benefits and tighter quads in just a few minutes. The warrior stance will enhance your balance while toning your back, legs, and arms.

Additionally, if you choose poses that target your abdominal muscles while you hold the position, it trims your tummy and gives you a flat belly.

Trikonasana

The name derives from the Sanskrit word trikona, which means triangle with three corners. The trikonasana aids digestion reduces fat deposits in the abdomen and waist and increases balance and attention. This boosts metabolism, improves blood circulation, and aids in weight loss. This asana’s lateral motion helps you burn more fat from your waist and abdominal area while also strengthening your thighs and hamstrings.

Adho Mukha Svanasana

Mukha Adho Svanasana came from the Sanskrit terms svana, which means dog, and Adho Mukha, which means downward facing. It is an asana in which the practitioner inverts to face the ground while standing on all four limbs. It is practiced as part of a flowing sequence of poses, particularly Surya Namaskar, the Salute to the Sun. Other western and modern exercise routines frequently incorporate the asana. Stretching and strengthening the hamstring and calf muscles in the rear of your legs.
