Shershaah, featuring Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, will be released this year after great anticipation. However, it will be converted to digital. While the filmmakers waited for theatres to open, it appears that owing to the COVID-19 epidemic, they have opted to distribute the film on Amazon Prime Video.
Shershaah will be visiting the broadcasting giant throughout the Fourth of July weekend. Amazon Original Movie Shershaah will launch on the network on August 12, 2021, in this first and historic cooperation between Amazon Prime Video and Dharma Productions for a worldwide release.
“At Amazon Prime Video, we’ve always worked to offer tales to our audience that have heart, soul, and are rooted in the soil of this nation, with themes that resonate throughout the world,” said Vijay Subramaniam, Director and Head, Content, Amazon Prime Video, India. “It is with great pleasure that we announce the publication of Shershaah, this year’s most inspiring narrative. The film represents the start of a new era for us, as we team up with Dharma Productions for a global direct-to-streaming debut, and Shershaah is the ideal film for that. We are confident that our clients will find this video to be a touching experience as well as a triumphant homage to the braveheart Kargil war hero”.
“Shershaah is the genuine story of a military hero whose unwavering spirit and valor led to our country’s triumph. His sacrifices are priceless, and his life will serve as an inspiration to future generations. We’re thrilled to have found a home for what I consider to be a real cinematic masterpiece in Amazon Prime Video, and we’re looking forward to starting a new chapter in our partnership with them. Shershaah is our ode to our troops’ valor, and I hope that every viewer’s heart bursts with pride as they watch it,” stated Karan Johar of the famous Dharma Productions.
