Senanayake was accused of trying to fix the games of the 2020 edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL)

Sachithra Senanayake, a former cricketer for Sri Lanka, was detained on Wednesday on suspicion of match-fixing. When he turned himself in this morning, the Sports Corruption Investigation Unit took him into custody. He was prohibited from traveling abroad by the court three weeks ago.
Senanayake was charged with attempting to fix games in the 2020 season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), where he is said to have persuaded two players to rig matches.
Between 2012 and 2016, the 38-year-old participated in one Test, 49 ODIs, and 24 T20 international matches.
The Controller General of Immigration and Emigration was mandated to issue a three-month travel ban by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
Today, the Attorney General’s Office was informed by the Sports Ministry’s Special Investigation Unit to fabricate criminal accusations against the former off-spinner.
