Another film of the season with the patriotic genre is about to hit the screens as Akshay Kumar, who’s considered as a modern master of the genre, is going to portray the role of a RAW agent in his next film ‘Bell Bottom’.
About the movie
The story of ‘Bell Bottom’ is inspired by a true event of an airplane hijacking that took place in 1984. The movie is considered the first film to complete its whole schedule during the covid-19 period. The plot of the movie will revolve around a man who is a RAW agent, a chess champion, and can speak and write multiple languages. An airplane hijack takes place and the man is summoned to save the lives of 210 hostages.
The major part of the movie was shot in Scotland. After landing in Scotland all cast and crew were quarantined and they lost 14 days. To make up for that, Akshay Kumar suggested to fast track the shooting and save the producers’ money, he also pulled a double shift and break his own rule of working for only eight hours a day.

Akshay Kumar is in the lead Huma Qureshi as his team member, Vaani Kapoor as his wife and Lara Dutta as the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Ranjit Tiwari is the director of the movie and it is written by Aseem Arrora and Praveez Sheikh with production by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Nikkhil Advani under the representative banners of Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment. The songs in the movie are composed by Amaal Mallik, Tanishk Bagchi, Maninder Buttar, Shantanu Dutta, Kulwant Singh Bhamra and Gurnazar Singh and the lyrics of the songs are given by Rashmi Virag, Babbu Maan, Tanishk Bagchi, Gurnazar Singh and Seema Saini.

The trailer of Bell Bottom was released on 3 August 2021. In the trailer, Akshay’s character is shown to be an undercover agent who goes by the code name of Bell Bottom. He is brought in to save the day after a plane is hijacked and landed in Amritsar, the seventh hijacking incident in five years. In the trailer, we can see Lara Dutta as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Akshay shared a video of him and Vaani dancing in the car as they go to the airport on his Instagram and wrote a caption “as you can see @_vaanikapoor_ and I are super excited for the #BellBottom trailer arriving today. Are you?” few hours before the trailer launch at a multiplex in Delhi.
Release Date
The movie was officially announced in November 2019 and its release date was of Republic Day 2020. In January 2020 the theatrical premiere was postponed to 2 April 2021. The shoot started on 20 August 2020 and it was wrapped up on 30 September 2020 in London. Due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic the film’s release was postponed. The film was earlier scheduled to release on 27 July but due to the pandemic, it was postponed and will be releasing in theatres on 19 August 2021 in 3D.
After the trailer, everyone is hyped for the movie, the fans of Akshay in particular. The story seems interesting and Akshay is known to pull off these kinds of roles in a brilliant way. Let’s see if he can repeat his magic in ‘Bell Bottom’.
