A video is going viral where the boy who got famous with the video of him singing a song ‘Bachpan Ka Pyaar’ is being gifted with a car worth 23 Lakhs by MG Motors, what is the truth?
Sahdev Dirdo who is just 10 years old is from Chhattisgarh. He got fame after his video of singing ‘Bachpan ka Pyaar’ went viral and he got a lot of attention after that in the past few days. Basically, the video was shot in 2019 by Sahdev’s teacher in his classroom in which he can be seen wearing his school uniform and singing the song with confidence. The video is all over the internet and people are loving it. The video even managed to impress, actors, netizens and even politicians.
The boy got famous even more when he was invited to appear on the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol’. Apart from that, rapper Badshah approached Sahdev to feature in his music video which also featured Aastha Gill, Ricco and Badshah himself. The album has been released and is trending on YouTube. Sahdev was also felicitated by the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel with flower garlands and he even made him sing the song and he also posted Sahdev’s ‘Bachpan Ka Pyaar’ video through his Twitter handle.
Did MG Motors really Gifted a Car to Sahdev?
Now, a new video is getting viral in which Sahdev is standing and posing in front of an MG Hector worth Rs 23 lakhs and beside him, there is a girl who is holding the car key and an official from MG is congratulating him. As the video went viral, people started assuming that the car was being gifted to him.

The truth behind the video
However, the truth behind the video is different from what we can see in the clip. MG Motors clarified that Sahdev was invited to an event at their store. According to the reports MG honoured and congratulated Sahdev by giving him a cheque of rupees 21,000 and a basket of chocolates.
Dheeraj Kumar, sales manager at Raipur based MG Motors also said, “We recently called the child artist Sahdev Dirdo to felicitate him. On this occasion, we requested Sahdev to hand over the car keys to a customer. The news that we gifted him a car is completely false”.
We spoke to the social media manager of Sahdev Dirdo, Pintu Maheshwari, he also confirmed that on 9 August 2021 Sahdev was invited to an event by Raipur based MG Motors and the viral video is of the same event. He clarified that they invited Sahdev to hand over the keys to their first electric car customer. He further said, “I posted some videos of the event through Sahdev’s Facebook page and later the videos started being shared elsewhere.”So, the overall conclusion is that it’s clear that MG Motors has not gifted a car to the ‘Bachpan Ka Pyaar’ famed boy Sahdev Dirdo and all the news that is going viral about him receiving a car, is just a rumour.
