After the success of the web series ‘Scam- The Harshad Mehta Story’, reports of another web series involving the life of a recent scammer is emerging. The scammer is none other than the fugitive Indian businessman, Nirav Modi.
Nirav Modi was one of the substantial diamond merchants in India. He is also the founder of Modi chains of diamond jewellery retail stores. In 2018, Modi was charged for criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, cheating and dishonesty including delivery of property, corruption, money laundering, fraud, embezzlement and breach of contract by the Indian government and Interpol.
The PNB Fraud Case
The case is all about fake letters of undertaking issue of Brady House branch of Punjab Bank in Mumbai. Nirav Modi organized the scam, and it also includes his wife Ami Modi, his brother Nishal Modi and his uncle, Mehul Choksi.
Journalist Pavan C. Lall’s wrote a book on Nirav Modi- “The Rise and Fall of India’s Diamond Mogul Nirav Modi.” The book is based on Modi’s personal life, encounters, interviews, and some more research done by the author. The book contains the story of Modi’s rise and fall and other major financial scandals in India.
Abundantia Entertainment, who has produced films like Sherni, Shakuntala Devi, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha, Airlift, wants to make a dramatic series about Nirav Modi’s life. It will have multi-seasons as per the reports. They will convert author Pavan C. Lall’s book on Modi- “The Rise and Fall of India’s Diamond Mogul Nirav Modi” into a series. The author Pavan will also be a part of the series. He will help them in writing the proper script from the story.
